National Test for Primary School Students
The National Test is an annual standardised examination for students in Standards 1 and 3, covering the subjects of Language Arts and Mathematics. The objectives of the examination are to:
Gather information for decision-making at the school, district and national levels.
Identify areas of the system that require further investigation.
Identify national norms.
Compare students' performance by school and educational districts.
Track students' progress through school.
The Ministry of Education publishes an annual report on students' performance on the National Test, which can be obtained by contacting the Ministry of Education in Trinidad. Residents of Tobago may also contact the THA's Department of Education to obtain this report.
